The Role of Business in Promoting Sustainability in China

We at JUCCCE were delighted to join the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Conference Board and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) on October the 31st for a CEO Dialogue on Sustainability. This event was presented and hosted by PricewaterhouseCoopers with a central focus on The Role of Business in Promoting Sustainability in China.

The CEO of PwC and WBCSD Chairman, Sam DiPiazza, opened the conversation with a keynote speech on global trends in sustainability and outlined the major findings of the organisations he leads. JUCCCE Chairperson, Peggy Liu, led a panel discussion about the Chinese approach to Sustainability. The panel explored environmental tactics employed by Chinese business leaders and analysed the ways Chinese corporations and multi-national corporations could learn from each other in order to become more sustainable.

At this event, the JUCCCE "Voluntary Offset Certificate" program was launched.

PricewaterhouseCoopers purchased 50 light bulbs for each speaker in lieu of standard speaker gifts.

The Sky Walk touring the Shanghai World Financial Centre was a thrilling way to close the conference: attendees viewed Shanghai from 439 meters above ground while envisioning a more sustainable future for the city.
